FENU chair presents the annual report

On November 28th 2013, FENU members and various stakeholders converged at Hotel Africana for the FENU AGM. At this event, FENU’s achievements and challenges through the year were presented. The FENU Annual report and financial report were presented and adopted by the meeting. These presentations triggered various discussions.

The meeting discussed how to supplement FENU finances to help with the running of the FENU secretariat. The meeting agreed that members should pay membership of 20,000 and an annual subscription for 50,000. The meeting agreed that these fees should be cleared by the first quarter of the New Year.

The election of a new FENU Board was also discussed. The meeting agreed that members should be mandated to vote for the next FENU board members after paying the membership and subscription fee. It was thus agreed that the FENU board should continue serving until the next AGM when mandated members will be able to vote for the new FENU Board.

The meeting heard reports from each of the thematic groups on what they have been doing this year. FENU work on the global partnership for education, Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Quality Education and the Quality Public Education campaign was also shared.
